Description
Better Work is a unique partnership programme between the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) aimed at improving labour standards and enterprise performance in the global apparel industry.
We work to improve workers’ lives through secure safe, clean, equitable working environments. We do this by building strong relations between managers and workers at the workplace who, with our support, can then drive their own improvements to working conditions and competitiveness. Today, we have reached more than one million workers in 8 countries, whilst also working to boost business benefits.

This guide is produced by Better Work’s Vietnam programme, and is aimed at helping factories and buyers understand more about their obligations and rights under the country’s labour law.

The Guide covers all major areas of the Labour Law, including those on Trade Unions and Social Insurance, governmental regulations, international labour standards that have been ratified by Vietnam, and the Vietnamese Constitution.

Contents of the Guide:
• Minimum working age
• Trade Union
• Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
• Labour Disputes
• Discrimination
• Forced Labour
• Wage and Benefits
• Contract and Human Resources
• Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)
• Working hours and rest time
