Description: The General Clauses Act, 1897 was enacted on March 11, 1897 to combine and expand the General Clauses Act, 1868 and 1887. The general definitions provided under the Act shall be applicable to all Central Acts and Regulation where there is no definition in the Act that conflicts with the provisions of the Central Acts or regulations.
