Socialife : Social News Reader
Socialife is a Windows 8 App that enables you to check your Tweets, YouTube™ videos, blog posts, and interesting news articles in one central place.
It is designed for VAIO with a clean and sleek interface optimally arranged for the touch screen devices. Just tapping a favorite post, you see the detail and share it with your friends.
The "Featured" section of Socialife helps you to find variety of news feeds by leading publishers. By tapping "+" you will instantly start subscribing to your favorite sources.
You need to accept Terms of Service and Privacy Policy below before use.
The Service is available only to individuals over the age of 13.

[Summary]
1. About the Socialife service
The Socialife service aggregates information from multiple online sources (such as social networking services (SNS) and news feeds with Really Simply Syndication (RSS)). You can access the service via the Socialife application that is pre-installed or can be downloaded to your device. Using the application, you can select which online sources you wish the service to aggregate. The application’s user interface will then display the combined information to you in one place as a single feed. In addition, the application has a feature that displays details about online sources that we believe you may be interested in receiving information from based the content that you access via your Socialife application.
In order to use our Socialife service via the application, you will need to create and sign-in to (i) a Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account (a “SEN Account”) or (ii) an account of SNS, such as Facebook. This account creation and sign-in process and the personal information that you provide when creating your account are controlled by Sony Entertainment Network or the SNS provider, independently of us. Please review the privacy policy of the Sony Entertainment Network company or SNS provider that governs the collection and use of your account information. In case you create and sign-in to a SEN account, the SEN privacy policy can be found by visiting www.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/privacy-policy, and selecting your applicable geographical region. If you do not agree to the terms of that privacy policy, please do not create a SEN account (however, you will not be able to use the Socialife service using a SEN account).
2. Information that the Socialife application may collect and communicate to Sony
When you use the Socialife application, the application may read and communicate to us, for our collection, use and/or storage, the following types of information for the purposes described below in Section 3.
Automatically Collected Information
i. Sony Entertainment Network unique account identifier and ‘ticket’ (In case you create and sign-in to a SEN account) In order to access the Socialife service, you may sign-in using your SEN Account. When you sign in to your SEN Account, you provide your SEN account ID and password directly to the relevant Sony Entertainment Network company (as explained above), which controls this sign-in process independently of us. Once you have successfully signed in to your SEN Account, your Socialife application will receive a digital ‘ticket’, which includes account information assigned to your SEN Account by the relevant Sony Entertainment Network company (i.e., your SEN Account sign-in authenticates you so you may use the Socialife service). This process may allow for authentication for an extended period of time so you do not need to sign-in to your SEN Account every time you want to access the Socialife service for that extended period.
ii. Social Network Service account ‘tokens’
In order to register to receive information from a Social Network Service via the Socialife service (or to access the Socialife without a SEN account), you may need to sign-in to your Social Network Service account. You provide your Social Network Service account ID and password directly to the Social Network Service provider, which controls this sign-in process independently of us. Once you have successfully signed into your Social Network Service, your Socialife application will receive a digital ‘access token’ from the Social Network Service. This token will be used to display information received through your Social Network Service account via your Socialife application. *The information described above (i) and (ii) is the information Sony collects automatically when you use the accounts of other service provider for the authentication of Socialife service.
iii. Your Socialife application settings
for example, the country and language you selected during setup and whether or not you have enabled certain features,
which news feeds with RSS you have registered to receive information from
which Social Network Services you have registered to receive information from and your screen names.
iv. Your device information(model name, version)
v. Unique ID which is automatically generated when you first start using the Socialife application.

vi. Information about your use of the Socialife application
We will also receive information about your content browsing history and preferences while using the Socialife application, including which Social Network Service or news feeds you read, which posts you rate and which posts you share with others.
Please note that the Socialife application may read and communicate the information above to us, even if the application is not currently displayed to you on your device.
3. How Sony uses your information
Sony may retain, use and disclose the information described above in Section 2 during the period of service provision, subject to applicable laws, for the following purposes:
i. Service provision
To provide you with the features and functions of the Socialife service that you request.
ii. To provide you with information about news feeds with RSS and other content
These suggestions may be personalised using, in particular, the information we collect about your use of the Socialife application as described in Section 2(vi).
iii. Updates and development
To help the Socialife application and service run better, to provide you with software updates, and to develop and introduce new features and functions for the Socialife application and service.
iv. Future product/service development
To assist us with the development of entirely new products and services.
v. Compliance and enforcement
To enforce and ensure compliance with the terms of use for the Socialife application and service and this Privacy Policy.
By using the Socialife application, you consent to use of the information collected as described in Section 2 for the above purposes in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent to use of your information for these purposes, you should not use the application.
