This is not just another tip calculator. It can produce "visually-verifiable" tips. In other words, it can format the generated tip such that when you look at the charges on your credit/debit card, you can immediately detect if an incorrect charge was made.

The following tip generation methods are available:

1. "Palindrome" - this method ensures the "cents" digits are the reverse of the first two "dollar" digits. For example, in the screen shots you can see that the tip calculated for $100 using this method (at 15%) is 15.51. Add this to the total for $115.51. Note how the "cents" digits, ".51" is the reverse of the first two "dollars" digits, "15". If you get your credit/debit card statement and these sets of digits are not reversed, then you know you should probably check into what's going on.

2. "Checksum" - this method ensures that the right-most digit of the sum of the first two "dollar" digits is equal to the final (hundredths) "cents" digit. For example, in the screen shots you can see that the tip calculated for $100 using this method (at 15%) is 15.06. Add this to the total for $115.06. Note how the right-most digit of the first two "dollar" digits, 1 + 5, is equal to the final (hundredths) "cents" digit - 6. If you get your credit/debit card statement and these sets of digits do not add up, then you know you should probably check into what's going on.

3. "Round Up" - this method will generate a standard tip and then add just enough to the tip to cause the total amount (i.e. tip + amount) to be a whole number. For example, in the screen shots you can see that the tip calculated for $99 using this method (at 15%) is $15 for a total amount of $114.00. In comparison, the standard tip for the same amount is $14.85.

4. "Standard" - this method will generate a standard tip. For example, the tip for $100 at 15% would be $15 for a total of $115.
