Description: RateCheck allows you to browse for Electricity providers in your area. In some states there may be just one or two, and may offer just a limited set of plans. In other states however, there can be an staggering amount of providers and each can offer as many as 20 or more plans each.

You can also go to the provider's web site directly from RateCheck.

With RateCheck you can locate those providers which offer you the best value, and take you to their web sites.

The following policy is specific to the app named RateCheck for Windows 8, available for download through the Windows Store

RateCheck accesses the Internet in order to retrieve the data displayed to you. It does not send (and therefore does not store) any personal information about you either to us or to third parties.

In order to display the information relevant to you, RateCheck asks you for your Zip code (if you so desire -and it is within the capabilities of your device- it may use the Location Services of your device to automatically determine your current Zip code). In either case, this Zip code provided will be sent as part of the request in order to display the data that will be displayed to you.

RateCheck retrieves its data from the Microsoft Utility Rate web service, its corresponding server may store a log including your IP address and the Zip code you provided, but not including any personal information (since none was sent).

RateCheck may in future releases include Advertisements.
