Description
Paint Grid is a program which makes it easy to add a gridded overlay onto an image. In other words, it squares up the image for you.

Splitting an image up into sections, to help us draw it, is something humans have been doing for centuries. With the dawn of the twenty-first century, though, it seems we have let this technique stagnate. We are still drawing the grid by hand and that includes computers (line or pen tool anyone?). I am sure you agree when I say it is a good thing to teach children how to do by hand in their art class. But... it becomes tedious the more you do it and, once you know how to do it, there is very little to learn or improve upon. This is where Paint Grid comes in.

To use Paint Grid, drag and drop a .jpg or .png file into the preview area. Use the control panel on the right to adjust the amount of rows and columns you want. After that, set the thickness of the grid lines and its colour and when you are ready, click "Save As". From there, you can either print it or open it in your go-to painting/drawing application.

By using Paint Grid, you are reducing a task which can take tens of minutes (sometimes over an hour) to mere seconds. All you changes happen in real-time, as well, so you are no longer bound to a certain size once you start. If you do not like the look of your grid, make a change and watch it update straight away. If you are bad at maths, play about with the settings until you find something you like. Most of all, let Paint Grid do the tedious stuff so you can get to the good part faster.
