Mars is the nearest "Earth" like planet in our solar system. Human have long history of fascinating migrate to the red planet. As for the science advanced in last few decades, the dreams maybe come true in near futures.

As for all the scientist working hard on bringing human to Mars, the simplest thing like timekeeping become very important.

This Martian time is based on Coordinated Mars Time (MTC) for the timekeeping in the Red Planet. This is the standard time is first coded by NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and it is commonly used.

Martian Time also used the commonly agreed Martian Year (MY) to keep track of the sidereal year on Mars. "Ls" is defined as the angle described by the line connecting the Sun to the position of Mars in its orbit, as it can represent the "day" for the Mars to complete one orbit around the Sun.
