CFI Tools VOR
---------------------

PURPOSE: The VOR app is used to demonstrate the function of a VOR and an NDB. The App uses simulated instruments to show how the needles are used to determine horizontal position relative to the radio navigation devices.

It's a simple tool used to explain a complex topic.

There are four icons on the screen that represent 2 VORs, an NDB and an airplane. These icons are moved around the screen to demonstrate how the instruments function. In Draw Mode the airplane follows a path that is drawn on the screen. In Pong Mode the airplane follows a random pattern around the screen.

------------------------------
How To Use the VOR App
------------------------------

There are three modes used to move the icons around the screen.

1. Drag and Drop
In Drag and Drop mode the icons can be dragged around the screen. The instruments can be used to follow the movement.

2. Draw
In Draw mode a path can be created that the airplane will follow when the Execute button is pressed.
The path is drawn by touching the screen and drawing within the white rectangle. On a touch screen simply touch the screen to draw. On a desktop or laptop use the mouse and the left button to draw.

3. Pong
In Pong mode the airplane will follow a random path around the screen.

Screen Sizes and Orientation
-----------------------------------

This Universal App is designed to run on a Windows Phone, Tablet, Laptop or Desktop. On the Tablet, Laptop and Desktop the App takes advantage of the larger screen sizes to simultaneously show all four instruments.

On the Phone two instruments are shown. By default these are the HSI and ADF. To switch between the HSI and VOR1 OBS touch the top half of the HSI to flip to the VOR1. Touch it again to flip back to the HSI. Touch the top half of the ADF to flip back and forth between the ADF and the VOR2 OBS.
