Description: This Bridge Tutor provides training for the auction phase following the '5-card majors' modern standard. The user receives a random hand and bid according to the standard bidding rules; if the bidding is incorrect it is automatically corrected and a message explains why the user should have selected this alternative bid. The bidding of the other hands is automatically generated. The bidding rules implemented are slightly more aggressive than the Standard American Yellow Card (SAYC) as they closely match the Lebel conventions.

This training tool assumes minimal knowledge of Bridge fundamentals: cards and denominations ranks, computing honor points (HCP), Total Points (TP) or support(S) points, commitments of a contract, etc.

This tutor is intended for beginners or intermediary players and therefore focuses on constructive bidding. Through this trial and error process it enables the acquisition of good practices to reach 'game' or a good contract. It does not include competitive bidding, identification of slams or sophisticated bidding rules intended for experienced players (but does include basic conventions such as Stayman or Texas).
