Description
The Animals For Children app was made with the toddler and preschooler in mind. Children during their early years, when they start to speak properly and master their eye to hand coordination, are eager to expand their animal vocabulary. Before smartphones, a common way to learn about animals was through flashcards. Now, thanks to speech recognition in Windows phones, a young child can learn the list of basic animals easily, simply by pronouncing animal words in front of the screen, and letting the phone show the corresponding pictures. Thus, this app is quite interractive and it involves the stimulation of many brain areas. It is like having a tutor helping your child learn the basic animals.

Using this app is easy and it involves the following steps:

1) Install Animals For Children on your Windows 10 phone or computer and launch it. You can read these instructions, at any time, from within the app by clicking the Hamburger button at the upper left corner.

2) Click the Learning Mode button if you are new with the app. You either can scroll horizontally the entire animal list or be shown on random animal at a time. The app will only recognize the animal words on the list. To see the picture of an animal, simply articulate the word.

3) Choose Quiz Mode to test your knowledge of animals. A random animal picture pops on display and you have about 4 seconds to say the name of that animal. Be sure to speak during the Capturing state, otherwise the app may not respond.

4) Exit either mode by clicking the X button to the upper left. The Animals For Children app does not offer a means of switching back and forth between modes at this time so to leave one mode and enter another, you need to close the app.

Animals For Children will recognize the following list of basic animals:

Aardvark, Albatross, Alligator, Ant, Anteater, Antelope, Armadillo, Baboon, Badger, Bat, Bear, Beaver, Bee, Beetle, Bird, Bison, Boa, Bobcat, Buffalo, Butterfly, Camel, Capybara, Caribou, Cat, Catfish, Centipede, Chameleon, Cheetah, Chicken, Chimpanzee, Coati, Cobra, Cockroach, Coelacanth, Cougar, Cow, Coyote, Crab, Crocodile, Crow, Deer, Dingo, Dog, Dolphin, Donkey, Duck, Eagle, Earthworm, Echidna, Elephant, Emu, Falcon, Ferret, Fish, Flamingo, Fly, Fox, Frog, Gerbil, Gibbon, Giraffe, Goat, Goose, Gorilla, Grasshopper, Groundhog, Guinea Pig, Hamster, Hare, Hedgehog, Hippopotamus, Horse, Hyena, Hyrax, Iguana, Insect, Jackal, Jaguar, Kangaroo, Koala, Lama, Lemur, Leopard, Lion, Lizard, Lobster, Lynx, Manatee, Mongoose, Monkey, Moose, Mosquito, Moth, Mouse, Mule, Numbat, Octopus, Okapi, Opossum, Orangutan, Orca, Osprey, Ostrich, Otter, Owl, Panda, Pangolin, Parrot, Pelican, Penguin, Pig, Pigeon, Platypus, Porcupine, Python, Rabbit, Raccoon, Rat, Ray, Rhinoceros, Salamander, Scorpion, Seal, Shark, Sheep, Shrew, Shrimp, Skunk, Sloth, Snail, Snake, Spider, Squirrel, Starfish, Stoat, Tapir, Tarantula, Tasmanian Devil, Tiger, Toad, Tortoise, Tuna, Turkey, Turtle, Walrus, Warthog, Wasp, Weasel, Whale, Wild Boar, Wolf, Wolverine, Wombat, Woodpecker and Zebra.
