Hindi Movies Industry or Bollywood or Hindi language film industry is the largest film producing in terms of number of movies produced and number of people employed in the industry. When we compare Hollywood with Bollywood, Hindi movie production surpasses Hollywood movie production and in terms of movie tickets sold also Bollywood is ahead of Hollywood. The golden age of Hindi Cinema 1940 to 1960 contributed many classical movies like Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Awaara, Shree, Aan, Mother India, etc. During late 1960 and early 1970, romance and action movies took the centre of attraction. Actors like Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Sashi Kapoor, and actresses like Sharmila Tagore, Mumtaz, Asha Parekh were prominent hindi cinema personalities during that period. Mid 1970 Indian film industry saw a change with introduction of angry man Amitabh Bachan, Mithun Chakraborty, etc. Hindi Movies or Hindi Cinema which is otherwise called as “Bollywood” is a Hindi film industry from the city of Mumbai, India.
