Jason Ronald, a head of Xbox’s Advanced Technology Group, said Microsoft hopes to build a game platform to allow developers and publishers to gain easy and automated access to live tournaments. Sure, Xbox One and Windows 10 are both supported. Xbox Live is devoted to make all games are accessed easily, now Xbox Live will provide developers with a new solution. That means UWP would bring new and consistent experience to users.

This platform will be built both by Microsoft and the top tournament organizations, including Electronic Sports League(ESL), the famous e-Sports organization in Europe. This organization is founded in 1997 and holds several tournaments, like Go4 and IEM(Intel Extreme Masters). Now this organization is partnered with Microsoft.
