A New Acquisition: Microsoft Buy Xamarin, a Software Development Tool Company

Today, Microsoft announces that the company acquires Xamarin, a software development tool company for iOS, Andriod and Windows Phone. The price was not disclosed, but is believed to be more than $300 million.

Scott Guthrie, the vice president for cloud and enterprise at Microsoft said Microsoft has built long-term partnership with Xamarin. Now Xamarin has been integrated into Visual Studio, Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and other enterprise suit. Also, the two companies will release more efficient products of training, tool, service, and so on.

 

Now the acquisition is finished, and Microsoft will continue to offer more and efficient development tools. The integration of Xamarin, Visual Studio, Visual Studio and Azure will provide users with a complete mobile development solution, an easy route to building applications outside the Windows ecosystem, without alienating users.
